The area of Etna, foothill and mountain, can find a boost of revaluation and at the same time a motivation in the maintenance and conservation of the landscape and rural resources through naturalistic rural tourism, supported by traditional attractions that wink to innovation.

The location of the investment, thanks to its strategic position at the foot of the volcano, its climate made of short winters, early spring and sunny summers, can give all year to tourists, nature lover, the opportunity to carry out activities related to green tourism, with low environmental impact, managing to satisfy that need to get in touch with authentic cultural-natural resources. The strong point of this territory is that the activities carried out outdoors are often surrounded by spectacular eruptions of the highest active volcano in Europe in a unique scenario in the world.

Industry studies show that today the tourist is motivated to visit the naturalistic places because of the new tourist routes that allow you to observe and appreciate biodiversity through outdoor activities.

With this project, we intend to exploit the growing demand to visit and touch nature and its products, through an experience designed for nature lovers of different ages, with a targeted service to three different targets, from school groups to adults and finally to the elderly. In this case it is planned to activate a multilingual website with related online services for booking guided tours, renovation of the rooms used as a tasting room and removal of architectural barriers.

Visitors, in addition to the cultivation of pistachio, can taste the typical products of the company inside the tasting room, can visit the peasant museum, observe the lava flows of the north-west side of Etna and the river Simeto, most important waterway of Sicily.

The route was designed in the following way:

Visit to the farm with explanation of the various stages of processing (planting of plants, pruning, explanation of the various pathogens of plants, difference between chemical and biological control), product collection, shelling and processing, tasting of pistachio products in the tasting room. The guest experience will be enriched by the use of multimedia services.
